When to Use Particle Count and Why
Particle Count is, without a doubt, one of the best tests available for maintaining system cleanliness. But is it the right test for every application?

Extremely small clearances and high susceptibility to contamination make hydraulics, compressors, turbines, natural gas engines and filtered bearing or gear systems excellent candidates for particle count testing, to name a few. But the type of information you're looking for should also be a major consideration. Find out when to use Particle Count and whether or not it's giving you the information you need.

Decoding the ISO Cleanliness Code
Your hydraulic system received an ISO Cleanliness Code of 21/18/16 on its latest oil analysis report, but what do these numbers mean?

The ISO Cleanliness Code was developed for measuring fluid cleanliness and is widely used for determining particle counts in lubricants. It specifies the size of particles measured and the method for coding the level of contamination. Learn how to decipher the code and maintain equipment cleanliness.
