Total Dissolved Solids
Definition:
Total Dissolved Solids such as inhibitor chemicals, silicates, contaminants and water hardness compounds can lead to water pump failure. TDS levels should not exceed 6000 ppm.

POLARIS Method - Conductivity/TDS Meter Measurement
Reporting Measurement:
ppm (parts per million)
Amount of Sample Needed:
50 mL
Test Limitation:
Overly concentrated in-service coolants will give false readings. Petroleum contamination can affect results.
